I live in Ventnor. I enjoy art and listening to music. I studied for my ‘A’ Levels at Brockenhurst College. I am hoping to gain experience in working with young people. I was part of SWAY as a young person for about five years, so I have seen the work they do and the impact it has in different communities. In this coming year I am be involved with youth groups, projects & activities. I am currently studying a Moorlands College, Christchurch, for 3 years.
I’m the lead worker for SWAY. I’ve been a youth worker for 12 years and studied at Southampton University. My family and I moved to the island in 2015 after spending 7 years in Suffolk leading a youth charity. I have been married to my beautiful wife for 10 years and we have two amazing sons and a springer spaniel. I am a passionate Christian and I believe my vocation in life is to see young people fulfil their God given potential. My hobbies are mountain walking, running, squash and football.
I am a retired Local Government Officer. As an Inspector of Weights & Measures, I worked as a Trading Standards Officer for local authorities including IW County Council, West Sussex & Kent. On retirement I returned to the Island and worked for A J.Wells & Sons Ltd as a Process Auditor and for the IW Council as an Enforcement Officer. In 2014 I became one of the founding Trustees of SWAY. I am passionate about helping young people to develop self-confidence and achieve their full potential.
