Steph was a teacher for 25 years, and is a Parish Councillor in Northwood, Cowes, where she lives with her husband, cockapoo, Hydea, and sometimes their three nearly grown up children! She loves working in the community and is particularly keen on improving the lives of young people and their families. Steph is also a Lay Worship Leader in the Cowes Cluster of churches.

I love the outdoors, you can guarantee wherever I go I will try to find a mushroom to identify. Art and crafts have always been a passion, the more whimsical the better! I have experience of running a Forest School for pre-school children. Baking is a hobby I enjoy and I try new things like beach art, crochet, and writing. I was involved in Brownies and Scouting growing up and I was a young person with SWAY for many years. Starting with SWAY as a volunteer grew lots of love for the chariy.

I am a retired Local Government Officer. As an Inspector of Weights & Measures, I worked as a Trading Standards Officer for local authorities including IW County Council, West Sussex & Kent. On retirement I returned to the Island and worked for A J.Wells & Sons Ltd as a Process Auditor and for the IW Council as an Enforcement Officer. In 2014 I became one of the founding Trustees of SWAY. I am passionate about helping young people to develop self-confidence and achieve their full potential.
